Jonathan Brain Indie-folk singer Jonathan Brain's songs travel the open landscape of the soul; with a unique voice described as "extraordinary" by Wire Magazine and as “haunting” by The Australian he paints distinct visions of post-millennial life - the beauty of the everyday, relationships bungled and hearts on the mend. Jonathan has performed extensively across Western Australia and interstate, including recent performances and workshops at the National Folk Festival in Canberra and the Fairbridge Festival. With quicksilver guitar playing, an effortlessly pure voice and literate songs, Jonathan is an engaging and unique live performer. His two solo EPs showcase his varied influences, which range from alt country, folk balladry and rock through to rich choral and instrumental textures.

Take a love travel and the ocean, mixed with slide guitar, fingerpicking and traditional forms of music, and you have the music of Marcus Bancroft. Emotive, searching lyrics and simple melodies over stripped back acoustic instrumentation. Honest interpretations of life's experiences and observations. Now based on the Gold Coast, Marcus recently visited his home town of Perth for a day to record 3 new songs, stripped back to bare acoustic instruments and vocals, with help on Sirens from James Michael Thompson (Tompo) improvising with slide guitar and extra vocals. The results are raw and warm, much like the stories in those songs. In the past Marcus has travelled and played before a wide variety of audiences, from tours in the UK and South Africa, to contemporary, blues and folk festivals at home.

Here's a bit about me: I'm from Fremantle, Western Australia, near a beautiful beach. When I was growing up my whole family were always into singing and listening to music. I was allowed to have violin lessons after practicing on a cardboard box with a stick every day in the garden for a couple of weeks. I was singing in the shower a lot. A bit later there was school. Then there were some traveling adventures. I still sing in the shower and I'm writing and playing music as always, learning about this wonderful world and like a lot of people working on changing the way I live so I can tread lighter on it.

Greg Champion is part humourist, part folkie, half hippy, half bogan, part Victorian and completely South Australian. Champs has probably crossed your radar through his shows around Australia at rural Community Halls, Sports Clubs, corporate gigs and folk and country music festivals as a musician, comedian or compere. Greg drifted into radio in 1983 on a fledgling public radio program, The Coodabeen Champions. He's now been a member of the institutional Coodabeens on ABC radio for twenty-three years, developing and sharing his particular brand of Aussie songs along the way. It was 1985 when Macca of ABC's Australia All Over started flogging Greg's I Made a Hundred in the Backyard At Mum's. Since then Champs has become known for songs like Cricket's On The Radio, May Your Fridge Be Full Of Coldies, Still Haven't Been on Burke's Backyard, That's The Thing About Football, Sensitive New Age Guys From the Bush, his Aussie Christmas CDs with Colin Buchanan and a collaboration with Jim Haynes & Ted Egan on Don't Call Wagga Wagga Wagga.
